Intel Driver 2.8.1-1ubuntu3

Performance has dropped from ~2800 frames/sec to ~1500 with glxgears. In all configurations that I have tried I got nothing beyond some subtle changes in performance (no more than 10 per cent, increasing as well as decreasing). The -intel driver 2.8.1-1ubuntu3 or later (note that UXA is enabled by default). 2. And the results: kernel 2.6.31-15 + default driver set = freeze kernel 2.6.31-15 + ubuntu-x-swat set = freeze kernel 2.6.31-15 + xorg-edgers set = freeze kernel 2.6.32-rc8 + default driver set

Performance didn't show any change, however something is changed because the tearing is back now. My desktop had similar issues even with older versions of Ubuntu, so I had to use Windows on that machine. It did not fix anything, but I managaned to put the 640x480 resolution as default. From the comments, it sounds like some people found the issue exists on Lucid, others have indicated it works well. Hardy: ~60 FPS Karmik: ~20 FPS 3 times drop! I restarted and I stil have the same issue with the resolutions. please show last 100 lines from /var/log/dmesg file saved in your changes folder/file. Check for overflow before overflowing.

I copy pasted the visible conten of my old home folder(from 8.10) from an external harddisk. Owner thatch45 commented Jan 17, 2012 Yes, I have moved this up to the next release, we have had a surprisingly high number of issues with apt on Ubuntu Owner thatch45 KWin continues to work as usually in such a case). This works around freeze issues seen on this hardware. (LP: #359392) -- Bryce Harrington

You can still report bugs, make translations, and so on, but they might not be used until the package is published. sigurdkaareFebruary 8th, 2010, 06:41 PMUnfortunately I only know how to grab EDID settings on an nvidia card, but maybe someone else will chime in with more intel experience. good luck! Is the bug related to bug #442197? Step #2: Fetch your specs. I've noticed a 75% performance increase, but 35 fps are still much lower than 60 fps with 7.0.3~rc2-1ubuntu3.

Having significant problems with X.org. I reinstalled 9.10 and everyting worked out fine. To track down a regression, we're going to need to bring up the two systems side by side with sysprof and top. Probably it is another problem with workaround to reinstall libdrm2 and libdrm-intel1.
